Anjali and I had the honor of visiting our friends Cam, Sean, and tiny baby Charlotte, just hours after she was born! What a treat! Anjali was so in-awe, she whispered the whole time.
Cam was the first pregnant woman Anjali has known. When Anjali first encountered her with her round mama-belly, Anjali was fascinated. After that, she said she had a baby in her belly, too ~ and for a little while, "a baby in my belly and a boy in my chest." :) For weeks after meeting Cam, Anjali insisted on not buttoning her sweater, but only "covering" her belly with it, because that's what she saw mommy Cam doing (Cam's sweater didn't have buttons, only draped loosely). She would very carefully drape the two sides of her sweater over her belly throughout the day. We happened to see Cam at the co-op grocery store the week before Charlotte was born, and we got to see her very-round belly, and Anjali heard that Charlotte would be out soon. So it was very fresh in her mind the day we got to see the tiny baby Charlotte out in the world. The morning Charlotte was born, Cam posted a photo of her on Facebook. Anjali climbed up to sit by the picture and had a conversation with her, telling her how she would grow bigger, crawl, then walk, and when she "get to be a big 'gwirell,' she come pay [play] wif me."
