This past weekend Papi had a few days off in a row, and I really felt like getting out of town. We headed not far south of San Francisco along the coast to a lodge nestled in the big grassy hills that was walking distance from the beach and hiking trails. Just having a change of scenery for the night was refreshing. And waking up to a grand view of nature out the window made the drive wholly worth it. The next day we relaxed around a fireplace in the yard of the lodge a good portion of the time ~ Papi read, Mommy painted, and Anjali played and explored.

Then we went for a short hike through the dunes to view the huge crashing waves of the ocean.
Rain brought us indoors just in time for a delicious dinner before we headed home. While we were recreating, I had the camera in hand and remembered to take some footage of Anjali communicating with sound and sign. That's what the following few posts document.
