We went to Marin Headlands beach for the afternoon. It was so windy! Papi and Uncle Austin added our beach umbrella and blanket to a vacant little structure someone had made out of driftwood, and it kept us sheltered nicely.
Anjali made a game of running out into the wind, hunkering her shoulders up and hooting with the thrill and then quickly running back into our windbreak and diving into Mommy's lap!
Needless to say, we didn't do any swimming, but in our little shelter the sun felt right for basking, relaxing, and enjoying the gorgeous coastal landscape.
The beach surface in our little area was composed of the typical Pacific coast stones ~ on their way to becoming sand. Millions of tiny, colorful, smooth and shiny pebbles. Fun to scoop and dump, to collect and stack, to examine and admire.

Anjali toes for perspective. These stones are tiny!
What fun!!! And what an unusual beach. The peebles are beautiful, but so foreign to those of us born and raised on the east coast. I'm so glad your whole family is getting so much more exposure to all areas of the countryside.
