A Quick Trip to Lexington

We went for a short visit to Lexington to visit with Aunt Tiff, Uncle Josh, and Cousin Stella after Tiffany's surgery. We were able to eat a meal with Teresa, have a picnic with Nanna, visit our friends Jessa and Nathan's new farm, and attend a (costume!) birthday party for Aunt Tiff. We even crammed some arts and culture - mainly great music! - in there. It was a busy weekend, but not a rushed one - very important.

We procured items for picnicking at the Co-op, and then spread Nanna's picnic blanket in the shade at Ashland, the Henry Clay estate. The Spring breeze pulled a shower of flower petals off the blossoms of the tree overhead making the scene feel quite magical. It was so relaxing, after eating we all lay down and took a nap!

Dinner was at Jessa and Nathan's, with a tour of the 100+acre property (including a hike through the woods and a blanket of wildflowers!) the next morning.

We lunched at nearby Berea before heading back to Lexington. We met up with several families to stroll the Gallery Hop downtown, and ended the evening boogying to one of Mommy's favorite bands - The Big Maracas.

The next day was an Alice in Wonderland-themed costume party! There were a couple Alices, several Mad Hatters, a tiny Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, large and small rabbits, a white and a red queen, and representatives of the garden. Festive!

And at four a.m. the next day we were back at the airport. Whew! Anjali's schedule never really adjusted to the time zone change, so that meant Mommy and Papi could enjoy some later nights out. And she also slept most of the ride home.
It was fun, but most importantly, Aunt Tiff seemed to be missing not an ounce of spunk, which was reassuring. We wish her and her family all the comfort and healing she needs to recover 100%.
