Anjali Sage Pope ~ Two Years Old

The months have turned into years. Two years.

Anjali is two years old! Two Years Old!

I have been getting her ready for this day: the day when, if someone were to ask how old she is, Anjali could hold up two fingers and say, "Two!" She was ready; Tita Arlene and Uncle Brian came over to share a special birthday dinner and Tita said, "Anjali, how old.." And before she could even finish the question, Anjali shot back, "Two." (And held up all the fingers of one hand. :)

Today I thought it would be fun to do a questionnaire of sorts, telling about Anjali Right Now ~ for her second birthday. Do you have any questionnaire-questions to ask about two-year-old Anjali? Leave them in a comment! :)

~What time does Anjali wake up in the morning? Between 8-9am.
~Does she take a nap? Yes ~ somewhere between noon-3, usually. These days it lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours.
~Bedtime? Usually around 9pm.
~Favorite food? I can confidently say that Anjali still enjoys nursing ("boogie") most of all. But she has many favorite foods. She likes sweet things best.
~Favorite sweet thing this week: grapes ("gapes").
~Favorite meat: chicken-apple sausage.
~Favorite vegetable: winter squash ("skosh") or sweet potato.
~Favorite breakfast meal: chicken-apple sausage, or quesadilla with lots of sour cream.
~Favorite dinner meal: soup.
~Favorite snack: yogurt ("yurk") with fruit ("fut" pronounced like "hoot").
~Favorite treat: cookie ("kooky").
~Favorite drink: kombucha.
~Favorite indoor play activity: drawing with markers, especially drawing "tattoo!"

~Favorite outdoor activity: going for a bikeride.
~Favorite book: a tie between Everyone Poops, and How Many Bugs in a Box?
~Favorite song: "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
~Favorite color: hmmm...I'm gonna say Blue ("bee-yu").
~Favorite toy: markers.
~Favorite animal: chicken ("chitchen").
~Favorite TV show: Haha! Trick Question! We don't watch TV!
~Favorite item of clothing? Anjali has a great interest in shoes, and especially right now - flip flops ("foo fops"). She enjoys putting on a variety of clothes, but prefers being naked.
~Favorite accessory: Anjali likes purses and bags ("baigs").
~What does Anjali call the members of her household? Mommy, Papi, "Diggy" (Kitty), and "Doffo" (Rodolfo). Oh - and Baby. ;)
~Does Anjali act shy, or outgoing? Though she does take a moment to "size people up", and doesn't immediately smile at just anybody, Anjali LOVES being with people and making friends. After she's done eating at a restaurant, she likes to make the rounds to socialize with all the other tables. (We try to be sensitive and accommodating to those who aren't interested.)
Snuggling with Uncle Brian

~Does Anjali talk a lot, or is she pretty quiet? When she is comfortable, she generally talks - and sings - a lot.
~How many teeth does Anjali have? She has all the teeth you can see, plus four molars! The last canine tooth is pushing through right now.
~Does Anjali say "No" a lot, now that she's two? She does assert herself, and doesn't always agree to everything (but, then, neither do I! ;). We can very easily see when she needs to re-connect with Mommy or Papi, or when she's overly hungry/sleepy by how adamant the "Nos" get. Some hugging with quiet whispering words, a "boogie" session, or crawling in bed with Mommy usually helps us regain center.
~Has Anjali ever adjusted to riding in the carseat, or does she still despise it? Amazingly, she has adjusted! She has taken hour+ rides in the car lately with barely a squirm or complaint! Singing her favorite songs helps after that point..
~What about baths? Does she like those? Anjali loves water. And she will take as many baths in a day as Mommy allows. Usually playing for so long that her fingers have deep raisin-wrinkles. She also likes "washing" things ~ like shoes, toys, etc. ~ by taking them in the bath with her.

With buddy Naomi ~Tita Arlene's niece~ in Maui.

These are exciting times for Anjali. And every day is a fresh adventure.
Happy happy happy two years, Anjali Sage Pope!
We love you ~ "So-much!"
