Birthday Party for Uncle Miles in Idyllwild, CA

Auntie Woo presents homemade lava cake and ice cream to Uncle Miles.
From Baja, we went via San Diego to Idyllwild, California, for a weekend getaway with friends for Uncle Miles's 40th birthday. Five couples shared a home in alpine forest with a creek that ran through the backyard. Relaxing, sharing good food, a little bit of hiking, and lots and lots of music making were the orders of the weekend. Though the other two kids expected to be there had to stay home due to illness, Anjali did not tone down her socializing. She made two new friends, especially: mama Julie (whom I unfortunately do not have photos of), and then there was Mary. Anjali wanted to do everything, be everything like Mary. She wanted to dress like her, lay by the fire like her, and then play with her long, curly hair endlessly. Mary earned the honorable title, "Friend."

Music making ~ Papi, Uncle Miles, and Joel playing guitars and singing.
Deep conversations with Uncle Brian.
Everything just like Mary.
