In our effort to spend as much time as possible outside, we have developed a routine of eating meals on the front porch. We spread our Mexican beach blanket on the cool concrete and sit on it cross-legged with our plates. When Anjali is done, she likes to climb onto the ledge by the stairs and watch people and their dogs and cars go by. She likes to talk about the different sizes and colors of the vehicles, and then say hi to pedestrians and wonder aloud about what they're up to. It has been satisfying to see her gain skill and confidence making the climb up and down from the ledge.
